Centenary Celebrations!
……………………………..
To celebrate the centenary, Huck has been travelling and meeting readers of all ages... from toddlers to enthusiastic grandparents. He has made numerous presentations, reading with children and making paper "Lowly" models with them.
"This year has been a real eye-opener for me." says Huck. “Whether I am in Bologna or Beijing, the love for my father's work is the same everywhere. I really had no idea what a special place he holds in so many families. When I think what my lovely father did, with little more than a pencil and paper, and of course, his wonderful imagination, to reach and tickle the minds of so many people, I am lost for words."

What a Year!
In the Summer, Richard Scarry and his original illustrations and archive were the subject of an exhibition at Hauser & Wirth in Somerset. Huck gave readings and illustration demonstrations to a captivated, very young audience.

In February, Hauser & Wirth also hosted a small exhibition of original drawings and were the first to show the furniture that Huck Scarry commissioned from a local workshop.
Much FUN was had by all.
Beijing, China
…………………
In May, Beijing's Yuecheng Center hosted An exhibition on the first editions of Richard Scarry's works, his family photos and memorabilia. Richard's books have become extremely popular in China in a very short time. It is beautiful to witness how books and the fun they bring know no borders whatsoever.
Bologna, Italy

We started the centenary celebrations in Italy at the Archiginnasio Library, one of the oldest and most impressive libraries in the world! The exhibition featured all our archive material from unseen sketches, to memorabilia including well-known hats, tickets and personal photos.
